OPP Tactical team surrounds house for 10 hours
A 25-year-old woman who brandished a knife and refused to surrender was arrested without incident by OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) members approximately 10 hours after being called to a Highway 21, Saugeen First Nation Territory, address.
In a Nov. 30 press release, South Bruce Peninsula OPP said they were called at 7:52 p.m. Nov. 29 to the occurrence, but before officers arrived, the woman left the residence after making a threat with a knife.
Police found the woman at a Kewageshig St. residence but she refused to surrender..
The ERT locked down the address overnight while OPP officers, with help from Grey County and Bruce Peninsula OPP Crime Unit, got a warrant to enter the residence.
At 6:10 a.m. Nov.30 police entered and arrested the suspect without incident.
The woman, who was held for bail in a Walkerton court, was charged with Assault with a Weapon, Assault, Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm, Fail to Comply with Recognizance.
