Southampton welcomed Santa Claus

Among the kids who told Santa Claus their Christmas wishes after his Nov. 30 parade in Southampton were Edgerrin and Bea Kahgee.

Warmer weather appreciated by crowds that lined the street for annual parade

Santa Claus helped Southampton get into the holiday spirit Mov. 30 with the annual Santa Claus parade along High St. Hundreds of people lined the street, and enjoyed the warner weather, to celebrate the holiday season.

The themes this year for the annual parade sponsored by the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce was ‘Parade of Lights’, and many of the floats were bedecked with twinkling lights..

No word yet about how many points of non-perishable food were donated by parade-watchers. Again this year, Thorncrest Outfitters entered a canoe in the parade to collect donations for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
Before the parade, Santa visited patients at Saugeen memorial Hospital to spread some holiday cheer. he was also warmly welcomed by residents at Southampton Care Centre.

After the parade, Santa Claus heard the Christmas wishes of kids who visited him at the Post Office.
